“The Power of Better” Examines Important Considerations for Installing EV Charging Stations

As government support for electric powered vehicles increases and more electric vehicles (EV) enter the market, there will continue to be a higher need for electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) — casually known as charging stations — in homes, businesses, facilities, and organizations.

In the second segment of our first episode of “The Power of Better,” we discuss EV charging station installation with an array of electrical professionals and Dan Allair, the general sales manager at Zeigler Buick GMC of Lincolnwood.

Allair worked with Chicago-based Jamerson & Bauwens Electrical Contractors Inc. to install a Level 3 charger — currently the fastest on the market. With new electric Hummers added to their inventory, they needed a new EV charging station.

“Having an EV charger on site is going to help us retain the relationships that we have built with our customers,” said Allair. “Not just during the sales process.”

Throughout the episode you’ll hear from experts in the area of EV, to include:

  • Rick Jamerson, CEO of Jamerson & Bauwens Electrical Contractors Inc.
  • Gina Dooley, project manager at Jamerson & Bauwens Electrical Contractors Inc.
  • Diana Sharpe, VP economic development at Commonwealth Edison Company (ComEd)

Powering Chicago excels at EV charging installation, because we continue to train the next generation of electricians, focus on the latest technology, and always put safety first.
