The electrical industry came together for an evening in October to celebrate excellence at the Electric Association’s 2023 Membership Awards dinner. Two Powering Chicago members were honored for their outstanding commitment and service. Richard “Rick” Jamerson of Jamerson & Bauwens Electrical Contractors, Inc. won the Gold Medal Award, and Jerry McGlynn of McWilliams Electric Company was recognized with a Hall of Fame induction. 

Rick Jamerson has unselfishly devoted close to three decades of service to consistently advance construction practices on a local and national level.  His industry involvement spans across more than a dozen trade associations, charities, code-making and regulatory agencies, as well as public sector appointments.  Rick Jamerson’s tireless service has not only improved the electrical construction industry, but also ensured a safer environment for Chicago residents. His years of dedication, service, and leadership truly exemplify what it means to be a Powering Chicago member, and set the standard with our commitment to better construction, better careers, and better communities. 

Jerry McGlynn was inducted into the industry’s Hall of Fame for his many years of service to a number of industry trade groups including the Electrical Contractors Association of Chicago & Cook County, the National Safety Institute, Construction Safety Council, Electric Association, and other organizations to improve safety standards across the trades.  His tireless efforts have directly impacted safety standards and construction practices that prevent injuries and save lives.
