If you have been considering purchasing an electric vehicle or charger, now is the time to do it. As part of the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is issuing rebates for Level 2 or 3 charging stations up to 80% of the installation cost. In addition to the rebate for the charging station, both the state and federal governments are offering rebates for purchasing a new or used EV. Illinois is offering residents $4,000 in rebates and the federal government is offering up to $7,500. In total, the rebates aim to put Illinois on a path away from fossil fuels to achieve the state’s goal of having 1 million EVs on the road by 2030.
