This Memorial Day, Powering Chicago joins the nation in honoring the brave service members who sacrificed to protect our freedoms. Powering Chicago recognizes their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to a cause greater than themselves.
From the battlefields of history to today’s commitments, these heroes have preserved the liberties that allow us to build, grow, and thrive. As professionals in the electrical construction industry, we know that our work—powering progress, supporting communities, and advancing the built environment- is only possible because of the security and freedom they fought to protect.
“Their extraordinary courage and unwavering commitment to protecting our freedoms stand as a powerful testament to the highest ideals of duty and service,” said Don Finn, Business Manager and Financial Secretary, IBEW Local 134.
Their sacrifice reminds us that the values we bring to our work- precision, responsibility, and collaboration- echo the principles they uphold. This Memorial Day, we are reminded to carry those values forward purposefully.
“We harness technology and skill to power Chicago’s progress. This opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our city’s infrastructure stands on the foundation laid by those who sacrificed everything,” said Bob Fimbianti, President of Electrical Contractors’ Association and VP of Linear Electric.“
It is with this deep gratitude that we pause, not only to remember the fallen but to recommit ourselves to building a future worthy of their legacy.
“The true measure of a nation is how it honors those who defended it. Today, and every day, we at Powering Chicago pledge to remember, to honor, and to live in a manner worthy of the profound gift our fallen heroes have given us,” said Elbert Walters III, Executive Director of Powering Chicago.
This Memorial Day, we invite you to join us in a moment of reflection. Honor those who never came home. Support those who did. And let us move forward—together—guided by their example.
