I wanted to update you with the latest information regarding the pension legislation in Washington, D.C.  As I stated in my previously, the joint select committee on multi-employer pensions was considering legislation that would do serious harm to both our NEBF Pension and our Pension Plan #2.  I am happy to inform you that based on meetings we attended in Washington D.C. in late November, we believe the joint committee will not have the votes to pass this legislation.

IBEW Business Managers and Officers from all over the country held over 300 meetings with U. S. Senators and Congressional leaders to explain our opposition to the current legislative proposal.

I want to thank each and every one of you who called and emailed your Representatives. We will remain diligent in monitoring and reporting legislation that affects our pensions as this process begins again in the next Congress.
