First Episode of “The Power of Better” Explores Advances in Prefabrication

In the first episode of “The Power of Better,” Powering Chicago’s new YouTube series, we explore prefabrication, or prefab, and how local electrical contractors are using it to better serve clients.

During this first episode in the new “Power of Better” series, our host, Executive Director of Powering Chicago, Elbert Walters, III, visits Continental Electrical Construction Company’s over 40,000 square foot warehouse. It’s here that prefabrication is used every day.

Prefab is not a new concept in the electrical construction industry. But technological advancements have made prefab processes even better. With computer-generated graphics called Building Information Modeling (BIM) contractors can build items exactly to spec before they’re even on the job site.
