Kick off the holiday season with Powering Chicago during the 111th City of Chicago Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, November 22nd at Millennium Park. This cherished tradition, presented by Powering Chicago, promises a night filled with festive cheer and dazzling lights.
This year’s spectacular 53-foot Colorado Blue Spruce, generously donated by the Holden-Shaddick family of Logan Square, will illuminate the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Washington Street through January 8, 2025.
Powering Chicago member contractor Taylor Electric Company, working alongside skilled IBEW Local 134 electricians, will install the holiday lighting that will transform this magnificent tree into a dazzling centerpiece of Chicago’s holiday season. This collaboration exemplifies the commitment to excellence that defines Powering Chicago’s mission of delivering better construction, better careers, and better communities.
The evening will feature a variety of live performances that will put you in the holiday spirit, culminating in the magical tree lighting ceremony and a breathtaking fireworks display. Multiple viewing locations with screens and concessions will be available throughout the park, ensuring everyone has a perfect spot to enjoy the festivities.
Can’t make it in person? The ceremony will be live-streamed on CBS Chicago starting at 6:00 pm.
